Children, Long Road Trips & Discipline

Eph. 6:1-2 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

We know kids are supposed to obey their parents ‘in the Lord’ because that’s what the Bible says and that’s just the way it is. It’s what discipleship as a kid looks like – you obey your parents.Well, here's a tip we found....

So children, it’s our responsibility to throw away those suckers! lol
(I think maybe my mother wrote that tip)

EVERY Child is ROYALTY!

In our eyes, every child is royalty and each birth should be cherished with the same enthusiasm!

Does Your Pulpit Fit?

When a new pastor comes to a church and he is a taller than your average guy, it is commendable how the church tries every way they can to accommodate him.  They have made sure the platform chair is just the right size and the pulpit is made to order.

How honoring it must be to God when we honor His servant and want him to feel welcome.

I wonder, did they not have a plan when the pastor had to have someone fill his pulpit? Maybe they thought all of his friends were tall. No, not all of them!

Vacation Pictures

There are some pictures of family vacations that preachers should keep on their own computer.  It is not about being heavy or even enjoying the sun with your family - this is about keeping the pictures off the internet.  It isn't glorifying to God!

I'm kind of wondering if one of the kids posted this in revenge then it would be buahahahaha!

You're Wearing What?

I should have know when we were greeted at the car by a church member and my husband was told, “Leave your suit jacket in the car; you will be out of place.  We’re just country folks around here.”  Well, being in the ministry, he always wears his suit that’s just the way he taught.  And besides that, we thought it was a joke.  Well, it wasn’t.

The Pastor shook our hand at the front door and his dress attire was a little different than what we were accustomed to.  He had on a tight pair of blue jeans, a pull over shirt, nice work boots and a handkerchief in his back pocket.  As we are introduced to his wife (who was lovely) she had on her capris and a t-shirt.

One by one people filed by and introduced their self, all dressed in like manner.  Now I guess they were going to plow the fields after church and the ladies were going to get the picnic ready but come on, we’re worshiping the King of Kings!  Could we not have put on our dress slacks?

About the time I thought I had seen it all in come some teenagers dressed in their pajama bottoms, tank tops and flip flops.  Oh boy…..

Just an opinion but I think we should show some respect and not look like we crawled out of bed to get to church!

Does anyone else feel this way?  Is church becoming just another Walmart?
